Last night my husband called to me from the bedroom that he wanted to show me something I might be interested in. I rolled my eyes and found him and he had, in his hand…MY RING! No, not my wedding band or my engagement ring (I wear those all the time), but my sister ring! I have four sisters and we each have a pearl ring that we adore. I got mine 2 years ago for my birthday, and lost it the following summer. I got my 2nd one to replace it, one year ago on my birthday. I lost that one the following summer. And last night, Dear Husband found it for me! I can’t tell you how excited I was!
While I realize this exciting news doesn’t seem pertinent to weddings, it is. Just watch. When my childhood friend Becca got married last July at Heather’s Glen, she was wearing the same pearl ring! I commented how perfect it was with her gown, and she said it was her ”something borrowed.” Wait a minute…did she “borrow” it from me…? Just kidding, Becca
So, spill it brides and fiances: what was/will be your ”something borrowed?”
*Yoga Update: No, Jeannie and I missed our first day but will hopefully try again on Monday. The wedding industry has kept us on our toes, but not on our downward dogs.*
**Birthday Update: My birthday is coming up on March 23rd and luckily I will not be receiving my 3rd sister ring.**
I just want to say that ‘sister ring’ sounds like you’re polygamists. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…wait, yes, yes there’s something wrong with that.
I do, however, think it’s a fun, fantastic idea that you can share with your sisters and I’m happy to hear that yours is found.
My something borrowed was a pair of diamond earrings from my good friend, Liz.
My “something borrowed” was a diamond necklace of my grandmother’s. After the wedding I tried to return it and she chose that time to give it to me. Whenever I look at that necklace it reminds me of my wedding day.
